Ron

Ronald Shepherd - President (Term Expires 2015)

Mr. Shepherd began his career in the accounting firm of Delloitte + Touche, where he earned his CPA. In 1979 he moved to the insurance business, serving as an executive for several major Bay Area firms. He founded his own insurance agency in 1994, is a licensed insurance broker and is currently president of Shepherd & Associates. Mr. Shepherd joined the WBSD board in December 1999. He serves as the representative for WBSD on the South Bay Sanitation Authority (SBSA), a Joint Powers Authority that is responsible for the plant that treats wastewater from WBSD and the cities of Redwood City, San Carlos and Belmont. He also is the appointed delegate to the California Sanitation Risk Management Authority (CSRMA) for both WBSD and SBSA. CSRMA is a Joint Powers Authority providing liability and workers compensation coverage for its members. He is a director and member of the finance committee of the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce, and served as Chairman of the Chamber in 2007. He has a B.Sc. degree in accounting from San Diego State University.

Dave

David Walker - Secretary (Term Expires 2015)

Mr. Walker is a native of Menlo Park. He attended local schools before going to Saint Mary’s College of California, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a minor in Economics. He is currently a Project Manager / Estimator for Malcolm Drilling Company, Inc. which specializes in installing foundation systems for large buildings and bridges throughout the U.S. and Latin America. Mr. Walker was elected to the WBSD Board of Directors in November 1999 and has served as the Secretary of the Board since 2002.

Fran

Fran Dehn - Member (Term Expires 2015)

Ms. Dehn, a long time Menlo Park resident and property owner, joined the WBSD Board in August 2008. She originally moved to Menlo Park from work at Massachusetts Institute of Technology to continue her career in biomedical research at Stanford Research Institute (now SRI International). Since then she has held research, sales, marketing, and management positions with several international corporations in the medical diagnostics, medical computing and computer industries. Ms. Dehn has degrees in biology, chemistry and an MBA in management. She is president of the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce. She and her husband have raised two children in Menlo Park who now live in the Bay Area with their families.

Ned

Edward P. Moritz - Member, Treasurer (Term Expires 2013)

Mr. Moritz first moved to Menlo Park in 1979. He spent over 35 years in the freight and logistics business working in the areas of government relations, pricing, operations planning, international ocean, marketing and branding. He started his career in Washington DC working for the American Trucking associations and then worked for Consolidated Freightways and Con-way Inc. He retired from Con-way as Vice President of Marketing and Branding at the beginning of 2008, and now provides consulting services in these same areas of business. Mr. Moritz joined the WBSD board in August, 2009. He has a bachelor’s degree in transportation and an MBA in finance, both from the University of Maryland. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
